Sewell Chan is the deputy managing editor for news at The Los Angeles Times. He oversees the foreign and national coverage, the News Desk (home page and news coordination), the Data Desk, the copy desks, the audience engagement team, newsletters and the editorial library. Previously he spent 14 years at The New York Times as their international news editor, first in London and then New York. In addition, he was a deputy editor of the Op-Ed page and the Sunday Review section. Before joining The Times in 2004, he was a staff writer at The Washington Post.
